A 21-year-old Denver woman was arrested this month for allegedly hitting two pedestrians two days prior and then fleeing the scene of the accident.

The woman is being held on investigation of leaving the scene of a car accident involving serious bodily injury, driving without a license, driving with a license under restraint and a lane violation. Denver police booked her into the Downtown Detention Center, where her bond is $5,000.

According to Denver police, the two pedestrians were crossing East Colfax Avenue at Ogden Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 23 when a white Kia Rio crashed into them. The Rio's driver did not stop even though both pedestrians were seriously injured.

In addition to arresting the 21-year-old woman, police officers seized a 2007 white Kia Rio, which they believe the woman was driving at the time of the car crash.

The woman has a long history of traffic violations, court records show. Her first brush with the law came at age 18 when she pleaded guilty to two different Denver traffic cases. One was for careless driving and the other for operating an unsafe vehicle. She served time in jail for the careless driving conviction.

In February 2010, police ticketed her for driving without a license, driving under restraint and speeding. Court records indicate a judge dismissed the charges after she pleaded guilty to using fake coins in a parking meter.

The woman was cited for careless driving, having no insurance and running a stop sign in Denver in July 2011. Court records indicate she pleaded guilty to running a stop sign and a judge dismissed the other charges.

Her most recent brush with the law came in October 2011 in Arapahoe County when she pleaded guilty to driving with expired license plate tags.
